Wendy Kopazna has had the pleasure of working for Milford Public Schools in the heart of Connecticut for over 21 years. She served as the Director of Human Resources, then Director of Talent Management & Development during her tenure. In 2026, Milford reached about 1,300 employees and 670 of those being teachers. Wendy’s dedication to retaining and creating an impactful culture within the district is where her passion remains evident in the field of talent acquisition and management.

Over her years at Milford, Wendy hired hundreds of substitute teachers and substitute employees. She’s seen the evolution of needs change rapidly and understands the importance of flexibility and adaptability a district needs to have a successful and strong substitute program. She looks forward to serving this council with the motivation to give this profession a voice.
