Velia Verdiguel is a dynamic Human Resources professional who began her K–12 career with Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) in 2008. GCPS is the largest school district in Georgia and the 11th largest in the United States, serving 142 schools. In 2013, she transitioned to the Division of Human Resources, where she supported systemwide hiring efforts for all high schools. She later partnered with the system’s Federal Programs office, collaborating across divisions to implement and manage the district’s Title II-A budget, designed to strengthen academic achievement by improving the effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders. Since 2021, Ms. Verdiguel has served as a Senior HR Manager, overseeing full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and professional development for substitute employees. She holds a deep commitment to providing world-class support to schools, employees, and students through strategic partnerships and data-driven decision-making.
